We had our first outing in the 08 Junior 'C'
Championship on Sunday 11th May, with a long trip
down to Killavilla. We had a strong panel going down, and
the team was Martin Carty, Jim Mahon, Fergal Comerford, Gary
Duffy, John Gallagher, Stephen McCann, Nigel Shaughnessy,
John Whelan, Michael Brereton, Keith Fitzpatrick, Mervyn
Shaughnessy, Barry Duffy, Louis Parminter. Subs, James
Mulhall, Dean Kavanagh, Josh Kiernan, Austin Kenny, Liam
Bermingham, Pat Gallagher. We got off to a great start 1:02
to no score, but then Killavilla worked very hard to come
back and go ahead and lead all the way to the end. The final
score was 5:13 to 2:11, best players on the day Barry Duffy,
Keith Fitzpatrick, Michael Brereton and John Gallagher, but
it was a poor team performance. Unfortunately Joe Nolan,
Adrian Mahon and Ian Matthews were unavailable, Noel Carty
was injured and Mark Connor couldn t play due to the fact he
had to play as a blood sub in the Intermediate Championship
match.
