Walsh Island secured their third win in a row in match against Daingean in the Division 2 league in Walsh Island on Saturday evening last, 5 th March. The scoreline was 2-09 to 0-14.

Daingean, with the aid of a strong breeze, rattled off three unanswered points before Walsh Island got off the mark. Daingean took control again and scored three more points before Rory Connor and Joe Nolan kept Walsh Island in the game. Ross and Rory Connor were having a great tussle in midfield against a strong Daingean duo before Ross made a great burst from midfield and a lovely one - two with Keith Fitzpatrick resulted in a great goal.

Undeterred, three more points from Daingean left them 0-09 to 1-03 ahead at the break.

Daingean again started brightly and within 10 minutes of the restart were seven points up. Walsh Island made some positional switches which seemed to lift the team and with points from James Gallagher, Keith Fitzpatrick and Rory Connor reduced arrears before Tony Kavanagh latched onto a long ball & coolly slotted the ball to the back of the net.

Both teams swapped points before Ross Connor levelled matters with a long range point. Rory Connolly then secured a great win with a fine point.
